Nakano Corporation (Nakano Lacquer Ware), based in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture,
manufactures Echizen lacquerware, mainly tea ceremony utensils.
Based in Fukui Prefecture, Nakano Lacquerware has been engaged in the manufacture of Echizen lacquerware, mainly tea ceremony utensils, for 90 years since its establishment.
While inheriting the techniques and spirit of traditional lacquerware, Nakano Lacquerware has responded to the changing times and boldly takes on the challenge of creating products that suit modern lifestyles.
Lacquerware is used less and less today, but its beauty and ease of use are still much appreciated by many people.
We will continue to provide new designs and highly functional products, while placing importance on the fusion of tradition and innovation, to spread the appeal of lacquerware to the world at large.

We are also challenging ourselves to create products that meet the needs of modern lifestyles.
In March of this year, we released “URUSHI POKETLE,” a collaborative model with “POKETLE,” a super mini bottle that became a big hit with women who said “less is just right” and shipped more than 1 million bottles in total.
It is an ethical bottle that can be cherished and used for a long time, not only for its outstanding portability, but also for its lacquerware characteristics that allow it to be repainted and repaired when damaged.
We invite you to come out and enjoy the techniques that can only be experienced here, such as “ikkan-bari,” a lacquer technique using Japanese paper, which is rare even
among lacquerware production areas, and “hakeme-nuri,” in which the brushstrokes are left intact.
